Today is Holocaust Memorial Day on which we express our solidarity and prayers with everyone – particularly in the Jewish Community – who are remembering the Holocaust today.

It is one of the greatest stains on human history: an example of horror, wickedness and suffering that is unsurpassed and so today we remember and pray not just about the past, but in this present time and for the future, that nothing like it should ever happen again.

This year’s theme is ‘One Day’ and on this One Day we focus on something so important that it should stay with us every day. In mourning the past we remain – and must continue to remain – ever vigilant, informed and focussed on peace and tolerance.
