A message from the Presiding Bishop

This morning, while sitting at my desk, I was reminded of this passage of Scripture, 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 while I was thinking about a few personal issues.

I had spent the night with my dog against my back, which meant I was pushed to the edge of the king-size bed and I had really bad toothache, so over all I was feeling rather low about my day ahead, but then I remembered that …..

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy,
it does not boast,
it is not proud.

It does not dishonour others,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil
but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects,
always trusts, always hopes,
always perseveres.

Love never fails.
But where there are prophecies,
they will cease;
where there are tongues,
they will be stilled;
where there is knowledge,
it will pass away.

If you have ever loved someone or you are in love with someone still, maybe it is your family, a partner, spouse, children, or maybe even your family pets, then you would know that LOVE is all things that are described above.

It speaks to me at this time of Covid-19 of those, children of God, who have gone to meet God and of those who are left behind to mourn and remember the lives that were lost.

We also remember to love we have for the NHS, it’s staff (regardless of position) who day and day work tirelessly to save the lives of our loved ones.

Stay Strong
we are all
Children of the Living God!
